AMICALOLA ELECTRIC MEMBERSHIP CORPORATION CHOOSES MAP2PDFTM FOR MAPPING DISTRIBUTION

(MARIETTA, Georgia, February 6, 2003) – Layton Graphics, Inc. (“Layton”) announced today that Amicalola Electric Membership Corporation (“Amicalola EMC”) has chosen Layton's MAP2PDFTM software for publishing and distributing its outside plant drawings and maps. The Adobe® PDF data sets produced by MAP2PDF will allow Amicalola EMC employees access to the corporation’s 1,400 square miles of service area, including links to a database of all equipment and customer information needed for maintenance of the network. Amicalola EMC is the second EMC in Georgia to select MAP2PDF for its mapping distribution system, joining North Georgia EMC, who completed their installation in April, 2003.

"We chose MAP2PDF because it is a very cost effective method of getting all our mapping data to our users, especially since the only software they need is the free Adobe® Acrobat Reader®," said Robert Payne, president and CEO of Amicalola EMC.

Layton’s Mapping and GIS Services group developed and supports MAP2PDF which allows the publication of engineering maps, drawings and data to geo-referenced PDF files for viewing and use by anyone with Adobe Acrobat Reader. MAP2PDF enables PDF files to display latitude and longitude, measure distances, query external databases and search for data by street addresses, intersections, equipment data and full text content.

According to Layton vice president, Phil Lee, “We are pleased to be able to bring value to Amicalola EMC through MAP2PDF’s functionality, simplicity and tremendous savings in man hours and materials.”
